Getting started

Create an account, pick a plan, and set up your workspace step by step.

Welcome to My Money! This guide walks through everything the app can do, in the order you'll actually use it: create your account, add your bank accounts and cards, record transactions, and let the app track your bills, spending, and goals.

The app is available in English and Portuguese (pt-BR). This guide uses the English labels; the Portuguese interface has the same layout. The guide itself is public and has one address per language — mymoneyapp.io/docs in English and mymoneyapp.io/pt/docs in Portuguese — so you can read it, share a page, or search it without signing in. The EN / PT switch at the bottom of the sidebar moves between the two, and inside the app the guide is always one click away in the sidebar under Support.

1. Create your account

  1. On the landing page, click Sign up and create an account (or Sign in if you already have one).
  2. You'll land on the plan picker. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, so you can try everything before being charged.

Choosing a plan

  • Pick a billing cycle first — monthly or yearly (yearly shows how much you save).
  • Then pick a tier: Starter, Plus, or Premium. If you're not sure, start with Plus — it unlocks the Calendar and Balance pages, file import, and the fiscal-month tool. You can change plans at any time from Settings.
  • Checkout is handled securely by Stripe.

See Plans and feature availability for a full comparison.

2. Run through onboarding

After subscribing, a short setup wizard opens. Only the first step is required — you can skip the rest and come back later (your progress is saved).

  1. Bank account (required) — enter your bank's name, an optional nickname, your current checking balance, and any savings pots. Mark one account as primary: that's where income lands by default.
  2. Household (Premium) — choose "Just me", or create a shared household and invite your partner right away.
  3. Goals — add savings goals you're working toward (you can refine them later).
  4. Cards — add your credit cards. Set each card's payment due day and statement closing so the app can track your monthly bill, and turn on Auto debit if the bank pays the bill automatically. More on this in Credit card statements and bills.
  5. Your data (Plus+) — import your history from a CSV/XLSX/OFX file, or start fresh.
  6. Appearance — pick light or dark mode from live previews.
