Getting started
Create an account, pick a plan, and set up your workspace step by step.
Welcome to My Money! This guide walks through everything the app can do, in the order you'll actually use it: create your account, add your bank accounts and cards, record transactions, and let the app track your bills, spending, and goals.
The app is available in English and Portuguese (pt-BR). This guide uses the English labels; the Portuguese interface has the same layout. The guide itself is public and has one address per language —
mymoneyapp.io/docsin Portuguese andmymoneyapp.io/en/docsin English — so you can read it, share a page, or search it without signing in. The PT / EN switch at the bottom of the sidebar moves between the two, and inside the app the guide is always one click away in the sidebar under Support.
1. Create your account
- On the landing page, click Start for free and create an account (or Log in if you already have one).
- Every new account is on the Starter plan, which is free for good: no credit card, no time limit, and nothing to confirm. Sign-up takes an email and a password, then onboarding starts right away.
Upgrading to a paid plan
Starter includes one bank account, one credit card and one savings goal. When you need more, or one of the Plus and Premium features, upgrade from Settings → Billing → Upgrade or by picking Get Plus / Get Premium in the pricing section of the landing page:
- Pick a billing cycle first — monthly or yearly (yearly shows how much you save).
- Then pick Plus or Premium. If you're not sure, Plus unlocks the Calendar and Balance pages and the fiscal-month tool. You can change plans at any time from Settings.
- Checkout is handled securely by Stripe and is billed on the spot. The card and your billing address are collected there, because every invoice (nota fiscal) needs the address.
What happens if a paid plan ends
If you cancel, or a payment keeps failing past the grace period, the account goes back to the free Starter plan. Nothing is deleted: every account, card, transaction and goal stays, and the Plus or Premium pages show an upgrade card until you subscribe again. Anything above Starter's limits is kept; you just can't add more until you upgrade.
See Plans and feature availability for a full comparison.
2. Run through onboarding
After subscribing, a short setup wizard opens. Only the first step is required — you can skip the rest and come back later (your progress is saved).
- Bank account (required) — enter your bank's name, an optional nickname, your current checking balance, and any savings pots. Mark one account as primary: that's where income lands by default.
- Household (Premium) — choose "Just me", or create a shared household and invite your partner right away.
- Goals — add savings goals you're working toward (you can refine them later).
- Cards — add your credit cards. Set each card's payment due day and statement closing so the app can track your monthly bill, and turn on Auto debit if the bank pays the bill automatically. More on this in Credit card statements and bills.
- Your data — import your history from a CSV/XLSX/OFX file, or start fresh.
- Appearance — pick light or dark mode from live previews.
3. Where to go next
- Learn the layout in App shell and navigation.
- Add more banks in Accounts and cards in Cards.
- Record your first expense in Adding and editing transactions.
