Install on your phone

Add MyMoney to your iPhone or Android home screen and use it like an app, with no app store.

MyMoney isn't in the App Store or the Play Store. It's a website that installs straight from the browser: open it once, add it to your home screen, and from then on it opens full screen like any other app, with its own icon next to the rest. There's nothing to download, and you always get the latest version.

On iPhone (Safari)

  1. Open mymoneyapp.io in Safari. It has to be Safari: other iPhone browsers don't offer the option.
  2. Tap Share, the square with an arrow pointing up in the bottom bar.
  3. Scroll the list of options and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Check the name (MyMoney) and tap Add.

The icon appears on your home screen. Next time, open it from there.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Open mymoneyapp.io in Chrome.
  2. If an Install app prompt appears at the bottom, tap it and confirm. Done.
  3. If the prompt doesn't appear, tap the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
  4. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen, depending on your version) and confirm.

The icon sits with your other apps and in the app drawer.

On a computer

In Chrome or Edge, open mymoneyapp.io and look for the install icon at the right end of the address bar (a monitor with an arrow). Click it and confirm. MyMoney then opens in its own window, with no tabs.

Signing in from the installed app

The first time you open it from the icon, sign in with your usual email and password. The session is kept, so next time the app opens straight to the dashboard. While it loads you see the MyMoney logo for a moment, in your light or dark theme, until the dashboard is ready. Pull the screen down to refresh any page.

Updating or removing

  • Updating: nothing to do. The app always uses the latest version of the site. If a screen looks stale, close the app fully and open it again.
  • Removing: hold the icon on the home screen and choose Remove app (iPhone) or Uninstall (Android). Your data stays in your account; only the shortcut is removed.
