Your data and privacy
Where your data lives, what we never do with it, and how to hide, export or delete everything from inside the app.
MyMoney is paid for by subscriptions, not by your data. This page explains, in plain language, where your data lives, what we never do with it, and which controls you have inside the app. The full version, which counts as a commitment, is the Privacy Policy.
Where your data lives
- Everything you record or import (accounts, cards, transactions, statements, goals and the contents of households) lives in our database, encrypted in transit and at rest, and nowhere else. Nothing is copied to advertisers, partners or analytics services.
- Smart tips, charts and projections (the income-to-spending flow, the projected balance, the savings runway) are computed inside the app, from your own numbers. Nothing leaves to be analysed, and nothing is sent to third-party artificial-intelligence services.
- Nobody on the team opens your records. Access to production systems is limited to keeping the service running and helping you when you ask, and every access is logged.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent or trade your data, with anyone.
- We never build an advertising profile, score your credit, or train models on your records.
- We never send your transactions to third-party AI or analytics services. Many apps do that to generate "insights"; MyMoney doesn't.
- We never show ads inside the app.
- We never require a bank connection: you log through the quick modal or import a statement. Open Finance integration is in development and will be optional, under the same rules.
These commitments live in the "What we never do" section of the Privacy Policy, and any change to it is announced by email and inside the app at least 30 days in advance.
What the household sees (Premium)
In a shared space, every member sees the accounts, cards, transactions and goals created there, plus each other's name and email. Your personal space stays yours alone: nothing crosses from one to the other. See Households.
Controls you have in the app
Hide amounts on screen
- Open Settings and go to App preferences.
- Turn on Hide balances. Amounts stay masked on every page until you turn it off — handy when you open the app in public.
Export everything
- Open Import/Export in the Dashboard header (or in the menu, on mobile) and switch to the Export tab.
- Choose CSV, XLSX or OFX and click Export transactions. The file carries your whole history and can be imported back. Details in Import and export.
Site cookies
Only the public pages (homepage, guide, contact) use analytics and marketing cookies; none of that loads inside the app. To turn them off, click Cookie preferences in the footer of any public page.
Delete your account
- Open Settings and scroll to the Danger zone at the bottom of the page.
- Click Delete my account. The app permanently erases your login, accounts, cards, transactions and goals and cancels any remaining subscription. There is no undo, so export first if you want to keep a copy. Details in Deleting your account.
Services we use
A short list, and each one receives only what its job requires: Clerk for sign-in (passwords never reach our servers), Stripe for payments (we never see the card number), Vercel and a managed PostgreSQL provider for hosting and the database, Resend for emails such as household invitations, Google for the Calendar you can connect, the reCAPTCHA on the contact form and the site's usage analytics, and Meta to measure our ads on the public pages. None of them receives your financial records for analysis, and none of them is an artificial-intelligence provider.
